My Thanksgiving is Perpetual
October is now officially here which means Thanksgiving is already almost here. For we Canadians anyway.
Those of you in the US have a few more weeks to go, unless there is no Supreme Court Justice confirmation this Friday. Then you may have a new thanksgiving (of sorts) to celebrate. 😉
My Thanksgiving is Perpetual
Thoreau knew all about thanksgiving and the truer reasons why we should celebrate.
Not turkey or football or historical events or pumpkin spice. It’s about acknowledging the harvest and recognizing the wealth of goods and spirit that arises from having worked for and achieved an abundance.
Too often we get caught up in the wanting of more abundant goods and fail to appropriately express gratitude to others and to ourselves for the accumulated abundance already in our hands, hearts, and minds.
So, if you feel inclined, take a moment and really hear Thoreau’s words. Take them to heart and let yourself celebrate all that you have and all that you are.
Let your thanksgiving–capitalized or not–be perpetual too.
