A Case for Misty Jade

Mint by any other name

Misty Jade is how it feels when walking through a field during an early spring morning fresh with dew hanging in the air. Or strolling through a tree-lined clearing on a late afternoon during a soft winter snowfall when time seems to stand still.

The air is crisp yet yielding. The whiteness of the precipitation haze contrasted with the sparking greens of the trees provides a subtle tinge of colour and emotion to the atmosphere. You could just live in its cocoon forever and be satisfied with the deep exhales it compels in satisfaction.

Breathe in, hold, and breathe out.

When it comes to branding, Misty Jade can bring this same essence of being. Its subtleness means it can work as a large-scale solid colour without seeming offensive or overbearing. It encourages an atmosphere or vibe rather than demanding one centred solely on it.

It also works well with a layering approach, contrasting it with bolder, brighter colours without it taking away from their vibrance but still carving out its own place. It also works well layered with complimenting colours, each building on the characteristics of the other to develop an sensory-stimulating experience.

What it also is? Safe. It’s not pastel enough to offend those who rail against softer hues and it’s not gobsmacking enough to turn away those who prefer calm. It’s almost a neutral but it carries enough personality to distinctly stand on its own.  This is what makes it safe.

Safety can be a good thing when it comes to your brand. It’s inoffensive and welcoming and no one can say they don’t want to meet these two brand personality traits. Misty Jade is more about the colours and textures you pair it with that will determine its overall brand scope and impact. For this colour requires a tribe to make it dance. We’d love to explore your options–colour or dancing–when you’re ready.
