A Case for Pink Lemonade

Pink lemonade is for sipping

Pink is another of the Fall 2020 colour trends identified by Pantone and Heuritech. We have a question though – is pink ever not a colour trend in some form? it seems like it is everywhere all the time, and in particular everywhere right now in a pale, pastely rendition.

Pink lemonade however is the hyped cousin of this current version. It’s an in-your-face-you-can’t-look-away-pink. This is the pink people with prude puckered lips would tell you not to wear in the boardroom and yet … and yet … and yet … that is exactly where it should be.

It has a dark balancing undertone which gives it a masculine edgy-ness but it does not in anyway overshadow the robust feminine core. This is a lip smacking power pucker of a face to put forward proudly.

The brightness this pink holds without being garish is visually astonishing. We want this colour. We want to bathe in this colour. We want to consume this colour in all possible forms. And we’re not pink fans; imagine how people who are will react when seeing it as part of your brand!

And here’s an additional selling point. Out of curiosity we went looking for how pink lemonade–the drink–came to be. The Smithonsian did a bunch of digging and found two stories, bother related to the circus. The circus! Just adds to the drama, no?

It’s up to you decide now – sit back and take a subtle sip of pink lemonade or down it with big gulps of tart, sexy goodness. Either way, you and your brand will be a bonafide style winner.
