About The Studio’s Mission
In junior high I entered a logo design contest for a local organization. I had never designed anything before but the $50 prize was enticing. I spent hours laying on the living room floor sketching and erasing and sketching again to get the vision in my head out on paper.
Friend – I’ll never forget the shock and joy I felt when I found out I won. Woohoo!! Sweetest money I’ll ever make.
Years later I formally created The Studio as a stress reliever during University. I’m a critical thinker and observer by instinct–a quiet power aficionado!–and I knew I needed something tactile to ease the analytical noise.
But, like we introverts do, I kept it to myself. Too shy to share with even those closest for fear they’d find my work wanting. Too apprehensive to admit to myself I was, maybe, good?
Over the years though, I’ve gotten less shy, less fearful, more bold. The Studio has a lot to do with that. It has always been there, ready to remind me of the creativity and ingenuity and accomplishment living inside me needing to be expressed. To hell with the critics.
Its mission (and mine) then and all along is quite simple –
